Labtec Pulse 485
Inexpensive 2.1 speakers, probably from around 2009 with retail price of ~$50.
Working fine, opened just for curiosity.
Claimed parameters:
- 28 W RMS (8 W x2 + 12 W)
- 48 Hz - 20 kHz bandwidth
- over 80 dB SNR
Easy to open.
Back plate is made out of aluminum (~2 mm thickness) and is used also as a radiator for power amplifiers. There is "Hot surface" symbol on the back.
I don't know why this speaker is dented, but I'm assuming someone poked it through sound port tube.
Transformer: 12 V x 2 / 1.25 A (so 30 VA).
4558 opamp.
Power amplifiers: 3 x TDA2030A from ST.
While there was nothing wrong with this speaker, few solder joints on the middle TDA2030A looked little bit suspicious, so they were remelted with some fresh solder.
