5000g kitchen scale

Cheap 5000g kitchen scale with LCD display and two buttons, powered by two AAA cells.

I've repaired few of these, always having the same problem - PCB damaged by liquids and corrosion.

Two screws under rubber feet.

Apparently same PCB could be also used in USB-powered models.

While most of the PCB is protected with soldermask, it is not present around test points. One of these points is next to ON/OFF button, another on the power supply trace and if either of these traces would be damaged, weight scale would not turn on.
Switches itself are protected with adhesive tape and this seems good enough. Perhaps covering test points with similar tape would prevent future damage.

Other area prone to corrosion is near the LCD zebra strip.

With only traces to LCD damaged, weight scale would be partially working but not displaying some of the digits.
One or two ceramic capacitors might also be worth replacing.

For accessing load cell (in my case it was not necessary) - two screws holding it are hidden under the metal plate on the pan. This metal plate was secured with double-sided adhesive tape.
